Mahoshadi Pieris

Team Leader Verite Media

Mahoshadi Peiris is the Team Leader of Verité Media, a division of Verité Research. 

Since 2018, she has led and conducted research on several areas, including unethical reporting in the media, information disorder, media ownership, and Sri Lanka’s socio-political landscape. 

Since 2020, she has led the management team and is an editor for FactCheck.lk by Verité Research. FactCheck.lk is the first and only signatory of the International Fact Checking Network in Sri Lanka, holding political and public officials accountable for their public statements. 

Outside of her work at Verité Media, she has also led and researched legal reforms in Sri Lanka’s customary/personal laws and regulatory frameworks for combatting hate speech and disinformation online. She has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) from the University of London and is reading for her Attorney-at-Law examinations at Sri Lanka Law College.
