Chrishari de Alwis

Chrishari de Alwis Gunasekare has previously worked as a sub-editor for The Morning newspaper and a programme coordinator for the Sri Lanka Press Institute.

Her research areas include classical reception studies, teaching English as a second language, South Asian regional studies, and media ethics.

Ms. Gunasekare is a regular contributor to the bulletins Conflict Weekly by the NIAS International Peace Research Initiative and the The World This Week by NIAS Global Politics course. She has a MA in South Asian Studies from the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute of South Asian Regional Cooperation, Pondicherry University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Western Classical Culture from the University of Colombo.
